Air Diver (UK Sector)

Air Diver Accountabilities

The Diver is required to work on deck as Stand By and underwater utilising a variety of equipment under instruction from the Air Diving Supervisor. May undertake supervised panel time to gain the appropriate IMCA requirements towards Air Dive Supervisor qualification. The position will take responsibility for the following tasks:

Management

·  Liaising with the Life Support Supervisor, Dive Supervisor and Dive Technicians as to the readiness of the equipment.
· 
Communicate feedback and interpret instruction whilst performing diving duties.

· 
Ensure effective shift handover including any safe work procedure and working conditions.

· 
Ensuring all operational or system changes are in accordance with company MOC process.

· 
Actively participating in feedback and developing emergency training/drills.

· 
Report any illness or other medical condition that may prevent safe diving.

Safety

· 
Anticipation of unsafe working conditions on deck and sub-sea operations.

· 
Operations carried out in accordance with company requirements ensuring proper protocol is followed.

· 
Dive system emergency training and familiarisation is carried out in accordance with company guidelines.

· 
Practical working knowledge and use of personal survival equipment in bell and hyperbaric lifeboat.

· 
Dive system internal firefighting equipment operational awareness.

· 
Ensure any additional work or panel hours are planned appropriately and in no way fringe on their main tasks when working as standby diver.

Operations

· 
Ensure all equipment checks and operations are carried out by competent personnel.

· 
Familiarised with all aspects of the system and equipment

· 
Good understanding, knowledge and management of diver's umbilical lengths to suit job requirements.

· 
Ensure that the scope of the task is understood and within range of present competence.

· 
Operate tools required for the work scope ensuring ambiguities are clarified prior to undertaking the dive.

· 
Practical appreciation and working knowledge of gas supplies and reclaim systems.

· 
Understanding of decompression and excursion dive tables.

Technical / Systems

·  Logging of any incidents involving equipment malfunction or failure.
· 
Equipment failures/issues captured within the system defects log and reported accordingly.

· 
Ensure all documentation is relevant and traceable within the BMS/FMS or exerts from vendor operational manuals.

People

· 
Ongoing personnel mentoring and timely completion of appraisals and competency portfolios

· 
Continued logging of all relevant details within their personnel log book

· 
Familiar with the Company's Key Human Resources Policies and Procedures
