Job Summary
Are you a dynamic and proactive sales professional with a passion for building strong client relationships and driving revenue growth? As a Proactive Sales Manager / Business Development Manager , you’ll play a key role in identifying and securing high-value business opportunities for our hotel. Your focus will be on attracting new clients, nurturing long-term partnerships, and aligning customer needs with our exceptional offerings.
This role requires a high level of self-motivation, the ability to work independently, and a proactive mindset to uncover new prospects and maximize conversions in line with the hotel’s revenue goals. As part of our external proactive sales team, you’ll attend industry events, engage with clients, and help strengthen our presence in key markets. Your primary focus will be on MICE, followed by Transient Leisure and Corporate segments.
You’ll also have the exciting opportunity to travel up to 50-60% of the time , meeting clients, attending industry events, and expanding our reach in strategic markets.
Key Responsibilities
Market and Revenue Management

Actively target high-value accounts, markets, and segments to achieve both personal and hotel revenue goals.

Develop and implement smart sales strategies and action plans to maximize revenue opportunities.
·
Seek out group and corporate business through various channels such as calls, in-person meetings, and site inspections.
·
Stay ahead of market trends, competition, and economic conditions to identify new opportunities.
·
Creatively upsell services and packages to meet customer needs while driving revenue.
·
Collaborate with the Group Sales team to craft tailored proposals and event concepts that align with client expectations and Hyatt brand standards.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building
·
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including meeting planners, corporate businesses, event organizers, and strategic partners.
·
Provide exceptional service through clear communication and quick responses to client inquiries.
·
Organize site visits, FAM trips, and entertainment events to strengthen client relationships and generate future bookings.
·
Represent the hotel at trade shows and market events to expand our business reach.
Sales Strategy Execution and Market Analysis
·
Drive personal and hotel revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.
·
Stay informed on corporate markets—local, national, and international—including competitor strengths and weaknesses, business trends, and demand fluctuations.
·
Ensure a seamless customer experience by upholding brand service standards throughout the sales process.
·
Plan strategic travel to engage key accounts and explore new business prospects.
·
Foster strong partnerships with international organizations and businesses to enhance brand awareness and open new opportunities.
Sales Tools and Professional Development
·
Stay up to date with Hyatt’s sales tools, systems, and best practices to optimize sales strategies.
·
Participate in ongoing training and contribute to the growth of new team members.
·
Mentor and supervise trainees, ensuring they develop the skills needed to excel in the sales team.
·
Maintain a proactive, solution-oriented approach to sales challenges, continuously improving both personal and team performance.

Qualifications :
What We Would Love About You
· Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English (additional languages are a plus).
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years in luxury hotel sales, with a proven track record of success.
· Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Organization: Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks proactively.
· Analytical Thinking: Strong data analysis and forecasting skills.
· Team Player: Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to a positive team environment.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Opera PMS and Envision is a plus.
