The Student Credit Risk Analyst - One year placement as part of Degree role is based within Retail Risk Analytics.

The role of the Student Credit Risk Anaylst is to independently analyse, interpret or model data from a variety of sources to provide analytical solutions to complex business problems. You will be expected to work to a plan and results must be provided in a timely and accurate manner. You will be required to clearly communicate progress and issues to stakeholders, and to formulate conclusions / communicate the impacts of your work. You will already be studying for a degree in a maths / business information systems type subject and be looking to undertake a 1 year placement as part of your course.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Developing, maintaining and improving credit risk statistical models, strategies and decision systems to manage decisions throughout the credit lifecycle
· Identifying, testing and promoting new tools, techniques and data sources to enhance analytics capability and provide competitive advantage
· Defining and providing analyses to manage credit portfolios against agreed performance indicators
· Working on a range of analytical projects with minimum guidance
· Providing support to business areas where queries arise regarding risk strategies
· The jobholder will work to ensure , through accurate specifications, testing and post implementation reviews that solutions devised from their projects are implemented

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Role relevant qualifications, i.e. studying for a degree in maths / business information systems type subject
·  Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office, e.g. Excel, Word, Powerpoint; SAS is desirable but not essential
·  An open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
·  Experience of making timely and rational decisions, based on relevant information and experience
·  Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
The base location for this role is Sheffield or Leeds
