DevOps Services is part of the CTO function in HSBC operating all GBGFs in the organisation. We are uniquely placed to drive HSBC’s DevOps transformation and aim to deliver innovative software in an innovative way.

We aim to make the lives of our engineers across HSBC much better by improving their experience in engineering software and supporting them in shipping safely to Production, for the benefit of the bank’s users & customers

Purpose of the job

The aim of this role is to support the transformation of the DevOps estate, which will result in an optimised technology operating and functionality for the adoption for business areas.  The role will provide strategic support and direction as well as structured governance around all ongoing change initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

·        Co-ordination and agreement of change initiatives with senior stakeholders across the GBGFs

·        Proactive identification of improvement opportunities in the technology landscape and delivering provable results compared to baseline

·        Delivery of transformation, working in an agile environment, utilising industry standard approaches where applicable.

·        Provision of subject matter expertise and facilitation to stakeholders and the wider engineering community that will consume these services

·        Management of stakeholder expectations and accountability

·        Provision of clear communication on schedules, delivery dates, scope changes, etc to stakeholders

·        Oversight of adoption and rollout of agreed operating models to the engineering teams

·        Development of ways of working and delivery approach that recognises incumbent risks of the directive and ensures that continuous feedback maximises delivery success.

Requirements

·        Experience of driving transformation in technology, operating in a DevOps / Agile environment

·        Experience of working in a product driven organisation orientated environment

·        Experience of working on global initiatives, engaging with team members and stakeholders in multiple locations

·        Strong experience of Strategic plans for organisational change

·        Excellent background in writing and driving strategic organisation change

·        Experience in measuring outcomes of change initiatives

·        Excellent written and spoken communication skills along with highly developed reasoning and analytical skills

·        Process oriented and structured approach.

·        Proven ability to navigate the governance that big banks put in place

This role is based in Sheffield and offer Hybrid working
