Job Description

We are looking for an engineer to provide technical expertise to support our Digital Suite software with in-depth troubleshooting skills, the ability to create technical reports, offer expert advice, and be a lead in other technical aspects of the products.

Part of the role will be to lead the engineering and implementation of Power Conversion’s digital applications and be a key point of contact for project teams when applying Digital solutions to their systems, covering both greenfield and brownfield projects.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Working within the technical support team, liaising with customers and field service engineers to resolve customers’ issues and product technical issues. Resolutions of problems may involve modifications to software and hardware, which you will identify and/or implement.
  • Carrying out analysis of diagnostic files and collaborate with both your team members and the engineering/development team to resolve complex issues. On occasion, it may be necessary for you to work at customer sites.
  • Supporting both new implementations as well as our installed base of systems, both in the UK and around the world.
  • When not resolving on site issues, you will be asked to look for opportunities to improve the reliability and stability of the Digital platform products, and related processes and procedures.
  • Collaborating with our sales and service teams to advise on the technical aspects of our bids for upgrades or new systems.
  • Working closely with the development and product teams to improve documentation, user experience and support validation.
  • Coordinating the integration of digital applications into a system, e.g., modifying technical drawings, coordinating PLC firmware updates and conducting bench testing.
  • Be accountable for the successful deployment of the Digital Suite applications, including connectivity to the GE Vernova cloud, and ensuring the solutions are operating as expected, with any necessary customer follow ups.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • A relevant degree in Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent qualifications), or significant experience in Operational Technology networks.
  • Experience of working with industrial control systems and industrial analytics, such as design, installation, or maintenance.
  • Familiarity with digital and remote monitoring applications
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Willing to travel within UK and overseas for short-term working.
  • Valid UK/EU passport to meet travel requirements.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
