What You'll Be Doing - As a Process Development Scientist, you will provide plant, process, technology, and scale-up support of existing and new products/processes for the Peekskill, NY, North Charleston, SC, and Hartwell, GA facilities, primarily Peekskill (90% of time). You will help to speed up innovation and implementation thereof. You will be responsible for ensuring that production support is effectively developed, communicated and guided through scale-up in the plant.

·  Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by being aware of and implementing company wide and site safety policies/procedures.
·  Support the department by managing the day to day lab operations and production trials and/or scale-ups while promoting a safe work environment.
·  Support and manage small to medium sized production support topics, where necessary coordinating activities at 3rd parties such as toll manufacturers, equipment providers or raw material suppliers.
·  Devise, plan, and execute laboratory experiments related to these projects.
·  Provide clear written and verbal instruction to operations during the support of plant trials.
·  Support the development and scale-up of new products and processes.
·  Responsible for the procurement of supplies and chemicals for the department and for maintaining an accurate and up to date chemical inventory.
·  Ensure all work orders are prioritized, communicated and progressed in a timely fashion.

·  Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
·  Strong quality and safety orientation.
·  Demonstrated ability to set up and carry out experimental programs and lead technology projects.
·  Ability to apply both fundamental principles and creativity to the development and improvement of products and technology.
·  Excellent experimentation and superior problem-solving skills.
·  Ability to interpret chemical & physical analytical data and coloristic data. Analyze interaction between process conditions and final coloristic properties.
·  A team player who not only delivers on their own projects but also supports others to deliver projects.
·  A talented communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can appropriately convey complex technical information to all levels of the organization.
·  Demonstrated ability to give, receive and act upon feedback.
·  A passion for continuous learning and applying new tools.
·  Strong written and presentation skills. Desired

·  Inorganic chemistry specialization is preferred
·  Preferred technical skills include hands-on expertise in the synthesis of advanced functional materials (e.g. nanoparticles, structured composites) and thorough experimental knowledge of fine particles, surface and inorganic materials chemistry.
·  Experience working with pilot-scale and plant-scale equipment.
·  Experience of the coatings and color cosmetics industries.
·  Experience of lean methodologies and six sigma certification. Bonus Points

·  Do you have inorganic chemistry and/or metal oxide coatings expertise? Great!
·  Two years of laboratory experience is a plus.
