As a Working Student in Investment Guideline Management, you will be joining the Investment Guideline Management (IGM) Surveillance team, which is part of the Global Legal & Compliance department. Our team ensures that regulatory, client and internal investment restrictions for European retail and institutional funds are compliant. IGM considers itself partners to Portfolio Management, Client Services and Product teams to achieve excellence across the entire Investment Compliance process chain.
This role is based in our Frankfurt office.
What you will do
- Regularly monitor tasks, such as collateral checks for agency lending and OTC derivatives, as well as debit interest reviews
- Report guideline check results to special custodians, including potential analysis of automated checks and temporary backup role coverage
- Respond to breach-related inquiries from custodians and auditors
- Support change initiatives, including robotics process automation, analytical tasks, management reporting, and documentation
- Proactively enhance operational processes using VBA and/or other technologies
- Perform quality control checks.
What you bring
- You are currently enrolled in a relevant academic program (e.g. Economics, Finance, Business Informatics, Business Mathematics or a similar field), and have completed at least one year of university studies
- You have solid proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially MS Excel
- You possess programming skills, such as VBA
- You are fluent in both spoken and written English; German proficiency is a plus
- You are self-motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate strong initiative
- You are curious by nature, ask insightful questions, and challenge the status quo
- You bring initial practical experience in the field
- You are available for 6 to 12+ months, working approximately 20 hours per week.
