About the role

 

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the development of proactive public relations strategies to build trust in the Allianz brand and enhance Allianz's reputation in the community. Reporting into the Head of External Communications, this role also manages media relations and contributes to the management of reputation risks.

  • Co-create and implement Allianz’s proactive media engagement and communications plan.
  • Manage responses to incoming media enquiries on behalf of Allianz in conjunction with subject matter experts
  • Develop and implement bespoke local thought leadership campaigns to ensure Allianz has a prominent voice on strategically important issues.
  • Identify opportunities to positively position Allianz’s senior executives in media.
  • Oversee relationships with external agencies to ensure best practice public relations processes and asset delivery.
  • Contribute to the execution of Allianz crisis communication plans and help develop external messaging for media issues.
  • Develop external speeches and presentations on behalf of Senior Management Team members.
  • Develop and manage best practice media and reputational measurement, monitoring, and reporting solutions. Measure and assess the effectiveness of communication plans quarterly and share learnings to promote continuous improvement.

 

About you

 

  • Significant experience in business media/communications leadership role within a complex, matrixed corporate environment or PR agency.
  • Proven experience in developing stakeholder relationships and consulting on internal and external best practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate communication principles, including the development and implementation of communications, public relations, and crisis management strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence.
  • Proven track record of pitching and placing stories in metropolitan, rural, and regional outlets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality outputs and exceptional customer service.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
