We are looking for an Underwriter Liability (m/f), based in Madrid
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Regional Head of Liability for Iberia Region, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Liability risks into the Spain market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be also the contact person for agents and/or brokers working with the Liability Team.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
Steer and control the portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Liability to drive the achievement of financial targets.
Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end to end underwriting life cycle.
Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products.
Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations).
Communicate local business strategy externally.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Degree in Law or Economics or other appropriate discipline.
At least 3 to 5 years' proven experience in underwriting profitable Liability business for corporate clients.
Ideally, experienced in PI / D&O / Cyber Risks / Legal Expenses as well as in Multinational Clients/Programs.
Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.
Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills.
Ideally, experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings.
Ideally, experience in driving underwriting projects.
Solid leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong communication skills.
Data analytics skills.
Ability to work in an international matrix organization.
Fluent English and Spanish language skills.
Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools, with a willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization.
