We are looking for an Underwriter Financial Lines (m/f/d), based in Munich or Frankfurt.

The Impact You Will Have 
As an underwriter at Allianz Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in driving our financial lines business forward. Your expertise will directly impact our profitability by securing and renewing high-quality accounts that meet Line of Business (LoB) targets. Through skilled negotiation, you'll optimize participation, pricing, and terms to ensure favorable outcomes. You'll take ownership of key accounts and clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients alike. Your strategic approach and relationship-building skills will be essential in maintaining Allianz’s reputation for excellence and in delivering tailored insurance solutions that meet the evolving needs of our diverse client base.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

·  You will underwrite new and renewal accounts to achieve top and bottom-line targets.
·  You will structure customized solutions in line with the team's underwriting guidelines and underwriting policy for clients and brokers.
·  You will negotiate participation, pricing, and terms with brokers to secure favorable outcomes.
·  You will ensure contract certainty is achieved at inception for all accounts.
·  You will utilize global pricing tools to maintain consistency and accuracy in underwriting.
·  You will develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.
·  You will drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims, Multinational and Operations
·  You will train, develop, and coach less experienced staff to build team capability and expertise.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

·  You have a degree in Economics, Law, or a related discipline, or are progressing toward a professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII).
·  You have at least 3 years of experience in underwriting profitable business within the Line of Business (LoB) with a solid understanding of LoB products and portfolio management.
·  You have demonstrable and established relationships with brokers at the peer group level, contributing to successful negotiations and partnerships.
·  You have a solid  understanding of regional and local LoB insurance markets, including the competitive landscape.
·  You know the legal and regulatory framework relevant to the insurance industry.
·  You have experience working within a complex, global matrix organization, adapting to diverse challenges.
·  You have excellent communication skills, clearly and effectively expressing ideas in both speech and writing.
·  You are fluent in English and German, enabling effective communication across multiple markets.
