The P&C Tribe Lead reports to the Regional Head of P&C (Regional Controller), with a dotted line responsibility to the Finance Director for the SubRegion. This role is critical in the coordination and execution of of forecasting, budgeting and performance steerage for each line of business (LOB) in the SubRegion. Additionally, this role supports the SubRegional Finance Director, Managing Director and the Regional P&C Head in monthly and quarterly closing activities, reporting, and business controlling. This role maintains a cross-LOB responsibility and serves as a team leader for the LOB-dedicated P&C team (“tribe”) within the SubRegion or hub.
The role contributes to the success of the SubRegion and LOBs ensuring internal and external reporting is completed on time, supports the business with insights on trends, risks and opportunities, while supporting and enhancing a unified approach for all Planning & Controlling systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Contributes to the planning, preparing and executing of budgets and forecasts (rolling forecasts, Planning Dialogue) for the SubRegion (LOB-by-LOB) to support profitable growth;
· Contributes to the administration and strengthening of financial control tools, procedures and controlling standards for deployment across the SubRegion and LOBs;
· Works with Productivity Controller to track and control primary costs within the SubRegion and optimize LOB costs to ensure fair and accurate allocation of shared costs;
· Ownership of monthly financial reporting and analysis for the SubRegion, communicating financial results to stakeholders in a reliable and meaningful way, with a LOB focus;
· Contributes meaningfully to the decision-making processes within the SubRegion through provision of high quality financial analysis and advice;
· Provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to the LOB-dedicated P&C Team (“Tribe”) within the SubRegion;
· Supports and validate business cases, and maintains controls and financial oversight on projects within the SubRegion;
· Serves as trusted business partner for SubRegional Executive teams, along with LOB stakeholders.
Key Requirements
· University qualification in a relevant discipline (eg. Business, Finance) with membership in a professional accounting body advantageous;
· Strong systems experience (Excel, PowerBI, SAP);
· Leadership experience within a finance department, ideally within an international matrix structure and/or insurance organization;
· Decision making skills – able to make decisions quickly and put into practical use;
· Problem solving skills – able to interrogate a challenge and develop processes that engage and educate the team;
· Ability to manage competing priorities while achieving agreed business outcomes, meeting deadlines, and motivating staff;
· Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business, and tailor communications to appropriate audiences;
· Strong proficiency of English language (oral and written), and proven experience working in a diverse multi-cultural environment;
