GPFS-Ansible-Linux Specialist (in Db2 PureScale Environments)

You will:

• Primarily responsible for managing the Linux-GPFS implementations in IBM DB2 environments for ABS Deutschland project.
• Will also have the prime responsibility to perform Database Management related implementations, hence willingness to learn DB2 database management (will be trained) and work for DBA related activities is also essential.
• Support the implementation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM GPFS areas within DB2 PureScale environments.
• Ensure a smooth troubleshooting with respect to performance optimization, assisting in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Develop and implement custom solutions for database cloning, disaster recovery (DR), and performance enhancements.
• Adjust  GPFS settings to optimize DB2 PureScale performance.
• Monitor  GPFS,Linux related issues  identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
• Evaluate GPFS impact on DB2 performance and maintenance, ensuring optimal system efficiency.
• Provide expert-level guidance, ideally backed by official authority (e.g., IBM best practices).

Your skills:

• Strong knowledge of  GPFS – Ansible and its integration with DB2 PureScale.
• Expertise in both Db2-managed and native GPFS installations.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Storage Scale / GPFS in DB2 PureScale environments (preferred). Know-how in DB2 Database management is also highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GPFS systems, ansible and Linux administration.
• Ability to resolve NSD name assignment issues in Db2 installations.
• Familiarity with STANZA files in GPFS and Db2 PureScale environments.
• Proficiency with encapsulated SSH and SCP commands in Db2 environments.
• Deep understanding of GPFS features like AFM (Active File Management) in relation to Db2.
• Experience in tuning and adjusting GPFS for performance optimization.
• Practical experience in monitoring and troubleshooting GPFS.
