We are looking for a Property Underwriting Team Leader based in Paris.

The Impact You Will Have 

Reporting to the Regional Head of Property, you will ensure that both new and renewal business are underwritten profitably to meet Line of Business (LoB) targets on a regional and global scale. Your expertise in negotiating participation, pricing, and terms and conditions for large clients will be crucial in securing favorable outcomes. You will take ownership of large accounts, providing ultimate oversight and responsibility, while also serving as a pivotal referral point for other underwriters. Additionally, you will cultivate and maintain robust relationships with brokers and clients, solidifying Allianz's reputation as a trusted and reliable partner in the insurance market.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

· 
Act as a referral point for underwriters and supervise team client accounts; 

· 
Underwriting Strategy & Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of regional underwriting strategy for Property; manage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate; act as a champion for any matters relating to a particular sub-Line of Business or area within the regional team. 

· 
Underwrite Profitable Business: Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets; negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers; proactively manage capacity and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation. 

· 
Underwriting Approach and Compliance: Underwrite in line with Line of Business governance framework; ensure contract certainty at the time of inception; utilize global pricing tools and ensure placing and binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception. 

· 
Market Management: Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business; liaise with MMC on market management initiatives. 

· 
Relationship Management: Represent Allianz Commercial positively in the market; drive involvement of functional areas in the underwriting process; develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders. 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

· 
Significant experience in underwriting profitable Property business with a specialized understanding of Property products and portfolios. 

· 
Proficient in pricing and market management, with expertise in contract drafting and interpretation. 

· 
Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data from multiple sources and draw appropriate conclusions. 

· 
Advanced skills in managing people, including delegation of tasks and steering team direction/goals, with strong influencing skills to motivate others without executive authority. 

· 
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and persuasively. 

· 
Robust understanding of policy administration life cycles, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, and credit control. 

· 
Completion of professional insurance qualifications 

· 
Fluency in English and French.
