JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently prepares the underwriting process within own area of responsibility and expertise and liaises with other functions to ensure timely/accurate policy administration
Develops and maintains peer level relationships with brokers
Underwrites new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets within predefined underwriting authority
Participates in the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary) in line with Underwriting Strategy
Proactively prepares relevant underwriting information including client / market research and claims data
Assists in pricing of risks, using global tools as appropriate
Ensures underwriting compliance in line with the Motorsports framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles
Assists in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
Assists in ensuring binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception
Proactively establishes and maintains policy file (whether electronic or paper) for each risk and transaction handled
Ensures accurate policy documentation issued to broker (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or broker has issued documentation (where broker responsibility)
Supports administration of International Insurance Programs
Manages timely and accurate booking of policy premiums and credit control / collection processes
Proactively works with other functions (e.g. operations, credit control) to resolve outstanding accounts queries
Positively represents AGCS externally to the market
Proactively drives involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including MMC, ARC, Claims, and Operations
Develops and maintains strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)
Proactively develops relationships with internal functional areas involved in the Underwriting process
Develops and maintains relationships with brokers at peer level
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Solid educational background; degree preferred
Progress towards professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII) would be appreciated
A first solid experience in an administrative role, preferably in the insurance sector
Able to express ideas and messages clearly and effectively via presentations/speech or in writing
Methodical approach and an eye for detail
