What you do:
This entry-level position in Allianz Investment Management (AIM) offers a unique opportunity to rotate through Investment Operations and Investment Management to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the lifecycle of investments. Your rotation will begin within Investment Operations and Data Governance as a critical team member contributing to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our daily Investment Book of Record (IBOR), Accounting Book of Record (ABOR), and Local Data Warehouse (LDW). The Investment Analyst will be responsible for reconciliations of positions and cash, inputting investment trades, transactions, and security master information supporting robust analytics, daily liquidity and portfolio management, and reporting. You will collaborate with senior team members to support your development. The analyst will play a key role in verifying the accuracy of our records and ensuring that data meets the needs of key stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to rotate through various functions across the investment value chain providing exposure to diverse teams. You will report to the AIM AVP – Investment Operations.
- Trade and Position Review: Facilitate the timely and accurate booking of trades and resulting positions, ensuring that all trades are accurately reflected in Allianz's books and records (IBOR, ABOR) in accordance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash balances and ensure that all cash transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile portfolio data against custodian and asset manager statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Reporting: Generate reports to provide insight into investment performance, accounting, compliance and risk management.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Relationship Management: Building strong relationships internally and with asset managers is critical to the success of this role. Along with communicating effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on data governance initiatives and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting: Support the documentation of data governance processes and create reports to track progress on data quality initiatives and issue resolution.
- Data Governance Design and Maintenance: Assist in the design and ongoing maintenance of data governance frameworks, including establishing data quality standards and protocols.
- Data Quality Assurance: Participate in monitoring and evaluating data quality, performing data quality controls, ensuring compliance with established standards, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Issue Resolution: Collaborate with business partners to address existing data issues, analyze root causes, and implement permanent solutions to enhance data integrity.
- Understanding User Needs: Engage with data users to understand their requirements and challenges, ensuring solutions are tailored to provide timely, accurate, and controlled data.
- Assist in implementing investment strategies that align with the portfolio's goals and objectives and ensure compliance with portfolio and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor external managers and vendors to ensure objectives are met.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and economic indicators and prepares internal reports, as directed.
- Manage the portfolio's risk profile and assist in rebalancing across asset classes and external managers, as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the adviser and portfolios.
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, MIS, or related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Curiosity, attention to detail, driven for solutions
- Proficient in Excel
