The Allianz Global Investors Development Finance and Impact Credit team is offering a 6-month internship position starting in the first quarter of 2025 (early January ideally), which will give you the opportunity to work on the selection, credit analysis and execution of direct lending investments in European small to mid-cap companies’ LBOs. The impact private debt team works closely with private equity firms in transactions, and select only companies with a strong environmental and social impact: solutions to fight against the climate change, to decrease water & energy consumption, favor the circular economy, reduce pollution, improve equal access to healthcare’s services, housing, education, etc.
The team also runs another strategy aiming at financing companies in emerging markets (LATAM, South East of Asia, Africa, etc.).
The Development Finance and Impact Private Credit team is composed of 9 investment professionals located in Zurich, London and Paris. This particular position is based in Paris, alongside the lead manager of the impact private debt strategy in Europe.
The team is part of the Allianz Global Investors’ Private Debt platform with more than EUR 34bn in AUM, and 67 investment professionals based in predominantly in London, Paris, New York, Frankfurt, Munich and Singapore.
What you will do
You will be integrated into the activity of the investment team and will participate in the following missions:
· Participate in the execution of leveraged LBO impact private debt transactions
· Perform due diligence, credit, and financial statements analysis, run financial LBO or corporate models
· Elaborate the investment memorandum for opportunities to be presented to the investment committee
· Assist the investment team with research analysis
· Participation to marketing and reporting for clients
What you bring
· Pursuing or holding a Master degree from a business or engineering school or university with a specialization in corporate finance
· Knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, credit analysis, and financial modelling
· Good expertise of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· A previous experience in one of the following areas is appreciated: Private Equity, or Private Credit, M&A, Structured, or Leveraged Finance team of an investment bank, Debt advisory, Transaction Services team of audit firms
· Analytical, synthesis and clear oral/written communication
· Passion for impact investing
· Curiosity, rigor, team player, adaptability
· Fluent in French and English
