Role Description
This role is responsible for planning and delivery of internal and external communication initiatives for Allianz UK. The role provides strategic communications counsel to Allianz UK senior leaders on projects and initiatives, overseeing a group of Communication Business Partners aligned to those leaders and planning communication activities from brief through to delivery of multi-channel communication campaigns.
This pivotal role builds brand and colleague trust and safeguards reputation through the “newsroom hub”, in short curating and transforming news into compelling content for both external and internal audiences. It owns the communication of our business and function strategies, brings to life our culture and brand, and tells everyone across the business what they need to know about our products, services, people and activities. It creates performance and measurement frameworks to monitor impact and inform continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for Allianz UK communications strategy, editorial planning and campaign delivery, identifying channels, tactics and messages required to deliver communication outcomes and, ensuring that outputs are consistent in approach and high quality.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications content calendar, ensuring alignment with functional, national, and global communication initiatives. Act as a primary liaison and central coordinator with content providers across various functions, fostering a robust network of contributors.
· Hold effective relationships with senior leaders through a Communications Business Partnering model, as well as internal and external communication teams, to deliver a coherent coordinated approach, identifying how and when to share content in appropriate channels (in close alignment with head of external communications and head of employee communications) to drive business outcomes.
· Manage and optimise internal digital communication channels platforms (e.g., Viva Engage). Drive the adoption and effective use of these digital channels to ensure timely and efficient information dissemination.
· Oversee the provision of communications team support for BAU activities as well as specialist change projects/ transformation functions.
· Create, lead and maintain a strong performance measurement culture, ensuring that standards are continually improved, promote best practice, value for money and maximum impact for communications spend.
· Work closely with colleagues in communication business partner roles to ensure the delivery of strong briefs for media, creative and digital.
· Ensure that the highest communications standards are achieved for both internal and external communications with a growing digital focus.
Essential Skills and Experience
· Insight and audience led planning experience in large organisations essential, particularly around connecting internal and external communications through digital channels.
· Data and analytical planning, strong skills in building the case for change and able to challenge and influence multiple senior stakeholders.
· Deep technical knowledge of internal and external digital communication channels and platforms e.g. Sharepoint, Viva Engage, LinkedIn.
· Demonstrable experience as an internal communications leader with relevant financial services and/ or insurance experience
· Leadership experience in a large multinational organization.
· Experience of managing complex communications within fast moving transformation environments.
Desirable Skills and Experience
· Experience of linking commercial and business priorities to employee and external communications strategies, able to influence internal stakeholder decision making and align communications activities to one integrated plan.
· Able to identify opportunities to, and introduce, new digital ways of working when creating a plan, when delivering communication tactics and when communicating measurement of outcomes using visual storytelling techniques.
· Proven track record of influencing key stakeholders, presenting complex subject matter in simple, engaging ways to multiple levels with varied knowledge bases.
· Strong written and verbal communication and data presentation skills.
Qualifications
· Degree level or equivalent. Communications or Journalism degree preferred.
· Professional qualifications e.g. CIPR
