About the Job

The Data & Analytics Platforms (DAP) Team builds and runs central platforms that empower Allianz to unlock the full value of data, ML, and GenAI. At the heart of this is the Allianz Data Platform (ADP) – a modern PaaS solution enabling data storage, transfer, analytics, and advanced AI use cases.

As an AI Senior Engineer, you will design and implement platform capabilities for Data, ML, and GenAI, while guiding local teams to apply them effectively in real-world solutions.

We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in cloud computing, data platforms (e.g., Databricks), and ML / AI / GenAI technologies, passionate about innovation at scale.

What you do

Act as a thought leader and expert on AI (ML, LLM, Agentic) and Data Platform capabilities, advising customers and internal teams on the latest technology and valuable implementation strategies within Allianz.
Design, build, and test AI and Cloud architectures in an enterprise setup to ensure efficient transfer and storage of large amounts of data, maintaining information accuracy and security during data transfers.
Leverage AI capabilities to create high-performing IT services within the existing landscape, troubleshooting and solving technical issues with creativity and prior knowledge.
Vet cloud providers and third-party services to ensure high-quality offerings for storage, compute, and LLMs, while creating standard operating procedures and policy documentation for data transfer and storage.
Stay updated with developments in AI (ML, LLM, Agentic AI) and cloud computing solutions, providing guidance to cross-functional teams on cloud and AI data access, especially during major transfers, updates, or changes.
Serve as the AI & Cloud architect subject-matter expert for the entire department, offering strategic insights and leadership.
Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in all processes, fostering innovation and efficiency in data management.

What you bring

Deep understanding of AI (ML, LLM, Agentic) concepts, algorithms, and frameworks, with proficiency in designing and implementing AI solutions that align with business objectives using popular platforms like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure AI, and AWS AI.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL (Javascript/Typescript is plus)
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design, with experience using major cloud computing services such as Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Ability to design scalable and robust enterprise architectures that integrate AI technologies into existing systems, identifying integration points and ensuring interoperability with other enterprise applications, databases, and services.
Strong cloud migration and data management skills, emphasizing data privacy and security, along with excellent problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced work environment.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, are highly desirable; proficiency in English is required.
