Position Overview:

As a member of the Chemistry team you will assist within day-to-day operation activities and promote overall shift efficiency. Incumbent will serve as source of information for Chemistry customers. Work requires judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives and making recommendations.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the day-to-day activities of Techs within the laboratory. This includes (but is not limited to): equipment checks, cleaning, autoclaving, stocking the lab with necessary raw materials and lab supplies as per documented procedures.

Acts as a catalyst towards production success, regularly floating between processes to ensure goals are met.

Acts as a resource to Manufacturing and Test areas on issues of chemical preparations and solution quality.

Collaborates with Lead Hand and Supervisor to coordinate production flow within area of responsibility.

Focuses on next shift success by ensuring materials, solution stocking guidelines are being met, and equipment is prepared for incoming shift.

Monitors product flow, raw materials and other key consumables in designated area and manages them to meet production targets.

Plans and organizes work and initiates/maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignment input, as needed.

Plans and organizes routine and non-routine tasks according to established objectives and work schedules.

Solves a wide range of problems requiring some interpretation of defined procedures and practices. Selects methods and practices with guidance from Lead Hand / Supervisor to obtain robust, thorough and practical solutions.

Communicates ideas and suggestions for improving processes to leadership and actively participates in implementing timely solutions.

Understands and complies with Quality and EH&S policies, procedures and guidelines. Safeguards the environment and facilitates a safe and healthy workplace culture.

Follows and ensures compliance to workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.

Conducts Assist with regular Health and Safety audits in area of responsibility recording and reporting findings to Supervisor.

Focuses on next shift success by ensuring sufficient tools, equipment and supplies are prepared for incoming shift.

Assists in organizing engineering experiments, and planned equipment maintenance, and planned lab shutdowns.

Collaborates with team to facilitate an effective daily shift report.

Acts as a role model and ensures operating procedures are followed.

Participates in production projects and process changes as directed by Team Leader Supervisor.

Other miscellaneous responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school completion or partial high school with specialized training.

College Diploma (2 yr program) or equivalent work experience

2-5 years direct experience in Wafer Fab Chemistry Operations or related business is an asset.

Demonstrated leadership success in a team environment is an asset.
