JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
▪ Provide Leadership to the Transport Planning team to achieve an accurate and optimal transport planning for the Abbott Nutrition division.
▪ Provide Leadership to the inventory team to maintain and optimize inventory accuracy & capacity for the Abbott Nutrition division.
▪ Realize an excellent customer service level for the division Abbott Nutrition.
▪ Ensures key metrics are visible and maintained throughout the business.
▪ Assure adherence and keep AN site up to the required standards of the Good Distribution Practices and the ISO900 requirements.
▪ Manages activities and allocates resources within the Transport Planning and Inventory Control Team to ensure strategic and departmental goals are achieved.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES)
Freight Operations
▪ Ensure daily & weekly planning of all Inbound and Outbound shipments is created and agreed with warehouse operations.
▪ Ensure freight is processed every day: monitoring pickups and deliveries throughout the day, identifying and swiftly responding to challenges.
▪ Review and respond to customer complaints about delivery quality.
▪ Represent carrier performance issues to ANSC Freight & Distribution team.
▪ Performs analysis and provides feedback on freight consolidation and mode optimization to ensure maximum potential is achieved in corporation with ANSC Freight & Distribution.
▪ Communicates carrier performance and propose actions to address performance gaps.
▪ Act as liaison with warehouse departments and ANSC Freight & Distribution team.
▪ Fully utilize the functionality of the Fulfillment Transportation Management System (FTMS), and continually evaluate the technology to ensure it meet the needs of the business.
▪ Develop and implement strategies that optimize the carrier relationship and meet the service levels of the organization.
▪ Develop a Best In Class freight operations team built on technology, talent, and solid processes.
▪ Close monitoring of planning progress and external elements and follow-up on deviations.
▪ Support periodic Business Reviews with (local) carriers in close cooperation with ANSC Freight & Distribution team.
▪ Ensure that EXA/T1 documentation is prepared correctly in customs system and shipments are announced in Portbase (port of Rotterdam) or APCS (port of Antwerp).
Inventory Control
▪ Monitor monthly inventory levels. Analyze actuals vs. LBE & create inventory projections.
▪ Responsible for the reconciliation of differences between “actual inventory (physical)”, “Warehouse Management System records” and or “Customer system records” of inventory.
▪ Defines off site storages needs and provides recommendation on volumes and duration.
▪ Management of Item Master data in the warehouse management system and the Fulfillment Transportation Management System.
▪ Maintains Inventory related parameters within the Warehouse Management system to ensure efficient use of the automated material handling equipment.
▪ Maintains relationship with IFO (Finance) to ensure full alignment on financial audits and acts as point of contact for IFO (Finance) and accounts during financial audits.
▪ Ensure proper management of hold inventory including internal and external reporting.
▪ Identify opportunities for inventory optimization to meet agreed customer service levels.
▪ Integrate supply chain inventory reporting within MBR/ S&OP process.
Quality & Compliance
▪ Ensure Exception Reports (ER) meet expectations on quality and lead-time.
▪ Ensure the quality system for transportation and warehouse support processes is up to date at all time.
▪ Fulfill the role of auditee during internal and external audits for the transportation and warehouse support team.
▪ Maintain compliance with Quality, Legal, EHS and Regulatory requirements.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for a team of 6 reports:
▪ Transportation Planning (4 FTE)
▪ Inventory Control (2 FTE)
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE
▪ Reporting to : Operations Manager
▪ Provides services to : AN Division
▪ Relationship with : AN Supply Chain team, IFO (Finance), Zwolle Plant
▪ Budget responsibility : $300.000
EDUCATION
▪ Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Logistics or Materials Management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
▪ Project management skills
▪ Affinity with IT, WMS, Transport Management systems is beneficial.
▪ Data Analytical skills
▪ Excellent Microsoft Office skills
▪ Process Improvement skills/Lean skills.
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
▪ Knowledge or affinity with warehouse, transportation, inventory management and/or customs
▪ People management skills
▪ Able to work with cross functional departments and different levels within the organization
▪ Priority setting and organizational skills to run the day-to-day business.
