JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Job Function

Sr. Specialist will manage publication planning for the respective SBU.  They will support development and dissemination of key eye care clinical messages through branded and non-branded professional communication vehicles. Vehicles include but are not limited to articles, trade supplements, podium presentations, abstracts and peer review manuscripts, education course curriculum, advisor meeting reports, and global meeting recap reports. Sr. Specialist will interact with physicians and internal marketing, clinical and R&D teams, reporting into the Manager, Medical Education & Communications. This individual will gather feedback from marketing teams and make recommendations to them on publication and communication opportunities.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

1. Publication planning and marketing content for respective SBU marketing team

2. Development of educational materials and presentation content

3. Data collection and dissemination from customer/end user back to respective SBU marketing team

4. Vendor and publication agency relationship management

5. Liaison between Medical Strategy and Marketing Teams

Position Accountability / Scope

Reports into the Manager of Medical Education & Communications

Highly effective communications skills (oral/written).

Must be highly and able to multitask many projects while coordinating feedback internally and externally

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience / Training Required

3 - 5 years experience in Marketing, Science, Technical Writing.

Minimum of 2 years experience in ophthalmic/medical marketing, professional writing/editing publication planning/agency

Demonstrated multitasking and project management skills.

Demonstrated written and communication skills.

Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Seeking highly motivated, self starter and capable of working independently as well as part of high powered team.

Must be outgoing and able to communicate effectively with higher level colleagues in Marketing and Medical Marketing/Medical Strategy as well as external clinicians.
