The Opportunity:
Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Senior Scientist for our Lake County, IL location. The primary function of this position is to design and execute analytical experiments toward characterization of structure, function, and quality attributes of biomolecules.
What You’ll Work On:
· Capable of skillfully conducting multiple classic and customized analytical techniques, primarily applied to biomolecules.
· Capable of functioning within a cross-functional team involved with new product development and able to anticipate critical product development needs from biological molecule analysis.
· Ability to critically process analytical data and results as well as interpretation and summarization of data from analytical methods for stakeholders is a necessity.
· Excellent team-working and adaptability competencies as well as strong technical communication skills, both in written and oral form.
· Effective with timely and accurate record-keeping of laboratory work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s with at least 2 years relevant experience in research responsibility or B.S. with equivalent experience in a research role. Degree(s) should be in either a biological or chemical science field.
· Proven experience with standard bioanalytical methods used to characterize protein biomolecules is required.
· Past demonstration of the ability to optimize analytical methods to new applications and troubleshoot instrumentation or method problems when they occur is also a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ph.D. Preferred
· Extensive experience with experimental analyses toward structure/function relationships or biophysical characterization of biomolecules would be particularly advantageous.
· Additional knowledge and/or experience in the fields of enzymology, immunology, molecular biology, or in-silico analysis (e.g. molecular modeling) would also be highly beneficial.

The base pay for this position is
$72,700.00 – $145,300.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
