JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.

Our location in Westford, MA , currently has an opportunity for a Sr. R&D Engineer .    The fundamental function for this role will be integration and enhancements for the imaging pipeline for the Angiography/OCT Intravascular imaging system. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

·  Bring deep knowledge of image processing and analysis to help implement new algorithms, implement enhancements and perform maintenance on existing algorithms.
·  Test and analyze the performance of the image analysis algorithms using C++ and high level languages such as MATLAB or Python.
·  Provide enhancements and maintenance to Angiography/OCT System data processing architecture.
·  Utilize well known and common image processing techniques and develop new techniques specific to the OCT/angiography technology platform.
·  Utilize image/video analysis and machine learning techniques to optimize algorithm performance.
·  Implement algorithms and optimize system performance using GPU. Provide documentation and test plans for software and algorithm work. Develop and provide understanding of customer usage of intravascular imaging technologies to help our team design the best products possible.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

·  Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Or relevant software certification (e.g. Udacity Nanodegree)
·  4 years of experience in software development (combination of programming-heavy coursework, school projects, freelance work and professional experience).
·  Demonstrated experience with algorithm design and implementation (including registration, object tracking, image/video analysis, AI)
·  Deep understanding of CNN/LSTM, familiarity with one Deep Learning frameworks (e.g.PyTorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, ONNX, etc)
·  Application development experience that includes testing and debugging in C++/C on windows platform
·  Experience in Third party libraries as ITK, OpenCV
·  Experience in CUDA programming is desirable
·  Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++.

Preferred

· 
4 years of commercial development experience or a graduate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

· 
Excellent English communication skills, oral, reading and writing (should be comfortable reading scientific publications).

· 
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

· 
Experience developing on the Microsoft Windows platform.

· 
Algorithm development experience for X-ray imaging applications.

The base pay for this position is
$72,700.00 – $145,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
