Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. Our product portfolio includes Freestyle Libre, a recently launched system that is revolutionising how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Purchasing Specialist to join our ADC Global Sourcing team based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Leading a small team, you will be responsible for leading the purchasing operations activities for indirect categories and subcategories across the Witney site, you will work closely with key stakeholders. This will include oversight of ensuring efficient and effective conversion of purchase requisitions to orders as the administrator of the site purchase requisition system. You will support in the creation of SOWs, CDAs and ordering documentation in line with agreed site SLAs.  You will be a self-starter/results focused individual who brings ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and other functional teams, actively seeking innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally be Degree qualified, preferably within an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Financial field, and bring a breadth of experience in supply chain and/or procurement in the manufacturing environment. Being a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar would be advantageous.
