The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Senior Manager, Forecasting and Strategy you will lead and manage the Canada forecasting team to support the business objectives of senior leadership and other business partners through ensuring accuracy of the forecasting models and developing data analysis to lead to actionable insights. In addition, the Senior Manager will support the North America strategy to solve complex business questions and shape commercial strategy by integrating various data sources and providing fact-based insights about customers, competitors, and the market. She/he will work across functions and advise teams and senior leaders in marketing, sales, market access, global, and finance on a diverse set of topics, such as market landscape, competitive intelligence, strategic forecasting, and product launch planning for the US and Canada. As the team leader, she/he will help the team set priorities, build lasting capabilities, define and deliver actionable insights to the business partners.

The successful individual will be an experienced leader with a strong track record of communicating strategic insights, developing forecasts, driving analytics, and building alignment across seniorities and functions. She/he must effectively align resources with business priorities, manage complex and ambiguous projects, influence stakeholders, and develop a team that serves as the trusted advisors and single source of truth for the organization.

What You’ll Work On

Forecasting: Leverage market knowledge, primary and secondary data, and KPIs in Canada to develop short-term and long-term forecasts, commercial opportunity assessments, and uncertainty analyses. Create a strong narrative about business performance and outlook, and proactively provide recommendations to impact market strategies and decision making.

Strategic Planning: Drive North America (US and Canada) commercial strategy development by generating deep insights about customer needs, competitive landscape, and market dynamics impact. Identify market trends and growth drivers by utilizing both internal and external data sources and combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative market research insights. Collaborate with other functions and departments to track competitor and market activities and define their impact on the business performance.

Strategic Insights: Generate fact-based data insights to formulate analytical strategies for solving business problems and creating business opportunities. Ensure accuracy and proactive communication of analyses, strategic recommendations, and other deliverables to the executive leadership. Proactively structure analysis around ambiguous problems and manage multiple projects.

Collaboration: Effectively communicate and partner with cross-functional stakeholders (incl.  senior and executive leadership) to gain agreement on business objectives, define the action plan to achieve business priorities, and timely completion of deliverables.

Team Leadership: Lead the team by explaining the context, providing clarity and focus on key priorities, deploying appropriate resources, and making good decisions without necessarily having all the information. Develop people through support, constructive feedback and encouragement. Optimize team strategic insights, forecasting, analytics, competitive intelligence capabilities through proactive coaching, training, and use of innovative tools. Effectively coach team member on how to translate market and data insights into key takeaways and communicate strategic insights and actionable recommendations across the organization.

Process and capability development: Continuously look for opportunities to streamline business operations and leverage state-of-art technologies to create high-quality solutions in a cost-efficient and timely manner.

Required Qualifications

BA or BS degree required

7 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Masters preferred

8-10 years of experience in Forecasting, Strategic Market Planning, and Analytics.

Finance experience appreciated

Significant experience working with key stakeholders across departments and interacting with senior and executive leaders across functions in an organization

Persuasive written and verbal communication skills

3+ years of people management experience

Experience in medical devices and/or biopharma industry. Deep understanding of healthcare related forecasting methodologies, data sources and use cases.

The base pay for this position is
$144,100.00 – $288,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
