The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Core Lab Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the Senior Coordinator Calibration , you’ll coordinate all aspects of calibrations for Core Diagnostics Division which includes training of instrument users to provide on-time calibration for Core Diagnostics instrumentation. Improve performance through improved Calibration System. Liaison with instrument owners, department management, instrument calibration technicians, and corporate metrology administration personnel to improve performance throughout the calibration system. Control instrument calibration dates (calibration due dates, status reports, and bad actors) by interfacing with users and calibration agencies. Support for instrument compliance issues.

What You’ll Work On

· 
Review and approve calibration request for correctness (process/ product specifications) are met; that all data required are documented per Basic and Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.

· 
Coordinate nonconformance issues (CAPA and Audit).

· 
Support CAPA requirements, initiate/submit Calibration Alerts.

· 
Advise instrument owners/departments on calibration related issues.

· 
Assure that adequate programs exist at the user level to ensure that users are trained in the use and care of the calibrated instruments used in Core Diagnostics.

· 
Project management (within division and across multiple divisions and/or sites).

· 
Accountability/Scope/Budget from Legacy System

· 
This field includes Accountability/Scope/Budget information imported from Legacy System.

· 
Follow up and resolution of CAPA NCRs issued for Cal Alerts.

· 
Maintain control of Bad Actors.

· 
Coordinate all calibration audit activities, including representation during audits, CAPA plans, and observation closure.

· 
Follow up and analysis for calibration metrics.

· 
Project work related to calibrations and/or instrumentation issues.

· 
Supervise a team of coordinators.

Required Qualifications

· 
4 year degree in business, technical field, or sciences.

· 
Knowledge in calibrations and role of instrumentation in production.

Preferred Qualifications

· 
5 or more years of experience is preferred.

· 
Project management a plus.

· 
Good organizational skills, computer knowledge, good people skills, general understanding of Core Diagnostics.

· 
Use of various software packages in the development of calibration metrics. Use of Calibration Systems: Maximo, SAP, and Manufacturing Enterprise System to research instruments in connection with calibrations.

· 
Understanding of the role Audits have in daily operations and their overall impact on Calibration System.

The base pay for this position is
$72,700.00 – $145,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
