ABOUT RAPID DIAGNOSTICS

As a result, Abbott is a leader in rapid diagnostics at the point of care.  

Our Rapid Diagnostics business focuses on five areas: Infectious Disease for Developed Markets, Infectious Disease for Emerging Markets, Cardiometabolic & Informatics, Toxicology and Consumer Diagnostics. These businesses provide testing solutions for everything from influenza to HIV to diabetes to drug tests and pregnancy testing. Our products are used in a variety of settings including hospital labs, physician office labs, urgent care clinics, pharmacies and remote health posts in remote and rural areas. 

Abbott's rapid diagnostic tests allow healthcare professionals and their patients to get same-day results. For healthcare workers, this means they can diagnose and advise their patients in a single office visit. For patients, quicker results means earlier treatment, less anxiety, less time and money spent on repeat doctor visits and a faster return to good health. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical / Operational

·  Identify business opportunities, develop strategies to address those opportunities, and co-ordinate the implementation of those strategies within the Alere organization
·  Regularly monitor sales performance of your territory against assigned budgets and take corrective actions as required to meet company goals

Internal Systems and Processes

·  Report regularly on the performance of your allocated customer accounts in the required format
·  Co-ordinate and communicate regularly with Marketing to ensure maximal service delivery to your customers
·  Comply with Alere Corporate policies and procedures

Customers

·  Maintain routine contact with key account stakeholders as defined by decision making ability, value of business opportunity, key opinion leaders, relationship value
·  Co-ordinate any necessary training/support for your Customer Accounts
·  Professionally represent Alere at local/regional sales and professional society meetings, congresses and trade shows

Financial

·  As a minimum:
·  Achieve Revenue targets
·  Achieve Growth targets
·  Operate within the annual expense budget

Conduct

·  Ensure all activities carried out by self are in accordance with legislative employment policies and safety requirements and corporate policy
·  Promote a standard of excellence for quality and customer focus at Alere
·  Uphold the company’s WOWs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

·  Relevant science or clinical qualification and background
·  3 - 5 years working in a sales/business development/marketing role within a commercial healthcare organization
·  Demonstrated history of high level sales performance
·  Working history of developing business opportunities at senior levels of customer organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

·  Post Graduate Business qualifications
·  Completion of negotiation/sales courses
·  Exposure/interaction with clinical/medical healthcare workers
