Gulf Region (Texas, New Mexico, & Louisana)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Manager, Diagnostics within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Disease (ARDx- IDDM) business located in the Gulf Region.

The incumbent will be is responsible for establishing and achieving sales goals and objectives in specified markets and geographical territories in support of the Company’s overall strategic plan. The scope of this position includes management of Account Executives to meet company plans and direct sales responsibility for an assigned geographical area. The primary sales focus is in the Hospital, Physician Office Labs, Urgent Care Clinics, Free Standing Emergency Departments and Private Lab market with emphasis on Abbott Rapid Diagnostic’s Infectious Disease product line.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Plan, coordinate and manage the sales activities of the Regional account executive team to achieve the sales goals of the Company.
·  Train and develop the regional team to understand customer needs, to identify sales opportunities and to effectively represent the Company and its products in the marketplace.
·  Plan, coordinate and manage the sales performance of the Company's distributor sales force(s) in the assigned Region. Act as primary contact for the distributor's sales and operations management team(s).
·  Act as a resource for contract negotiation, pricing, proposal, bid preparation, customer service and customer follow-up.
·  Assist in the formulation of strategic sales plans and tactics, including annual Territory/Regional Plans and Sales Forecasting
·  Interact and communicate with associated operating departments as necessary to produce cohesive efforts to accomplish company goals.
·  Monitor market, customer and competitor trends and advise management on methods to improve company competitiveness.  Work closely with Company marketing department to assist identification of new opportunities and to develop marketing plans and programs.
·  Provide regular sales reports, forecasts and communication with sales and marketing management.
·  Identifies and recruits direct sales professionals. Manages performance of staff towards department and Company goals, including regular performance feedback, and communication related to any performance counseling/disciplinary actions, career counseling, merit process, teamwork and other relevant people management responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

·  BA/BS in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or related coursework. 
·  3+ Years of proven hospital, clinical lab, reference lab, physician office lab or related successful sales management experience. 5+ years of related sales experience, such as POC, Lab, and/or Capital Sales.
·  Travel estimated to be 60-75%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·  Demonstrated leadership experience including problem solving, conflict resolution, complex selling, and planning and execution. Excellent interpersonal skills and documented success in team selling environment.
·  Ability to effectively communicate, speak in public, and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
·  Executive level business and financial acumen, strong team leadership skills and knowledge of all products and services. They should be an expert in ‘getting things done’ within the Company and possess strong negotiation skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Experience working with third party distribution organizations
·  Strong internal and external networking skills with robust inter-personal skills that will develop and enhance long term relationships.
·  Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments with minimal guidance in an accurate, dependable manner.

The base pay for this position is
$95,000.00 – $190,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
