JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Function:
The QE Technician provides independent, unbiased testing ensuring the quality of the product. The results of the Technican's evaluation is documented and communicated to quality and manufacturing. The Technician's approval certifies the work to Abbott's quality system requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Completes process monitoring testing according to procedures using Instron machine, force gauges, and other measuring tools.; Verifies product meets product specifications.; Ensure that standards are met and report potential issues either with quality or reliability of testing procedures. Write and revise standard operating procedures. Assists engineers to perform testing to support investigations or validations. Assists engineers in Root Cause Analysis. Documents the non-conformance or suspected non-conformance to specifications through the completion of required paperwork, system transactions, and affixing his or her mark.; Handles discrepant sub-assemblies, final assemblies per the documented disposition and document activities in the appropriate systems or paperwork.; Work within a GMP environment and document results per GDP standards.; Communicates the status of testing and other assignments, responsibilities, and duties. Trains new, entry level, and less experienced QE Technicians through on-the-job training, group training, and one-on-one guidance.
Qualifications
H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 3-5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination. Two-year degree or some college credits preferred. (Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals. Utilizes increased knowledge of numerical and statistical data and computer software programs to resolve non-routine/moderately complex problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.; (Cognitive Skills) With a high degree of initiative, performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments using standard methods and sequences. Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed. Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.
