JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Planning and Procurement Manager reports directly to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for all material planning, direct/indirect purchasing and production planning within the plant and warehouse. This includes managing the Direct/Indirect Buying team and Production Planning team. The Planning and Procurement Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability of materials required for production and closely collaborates with global supply chain planners, business leadership and plant operations to meet customer demand, achieve operating efficiencies and maintain inventory within targets. The Planning and Procurement Manager will lead the production planners in collaborating with operations to optimize production to meet demand and with plant finance to forecast and prepare budgets. The Planning and Procurement Manager will work closely with all areas of global procurement group, global supply chain group and international customer service group to achieve the business and department goals. The Planning and Procurement Manager will engage with suppliers as needed, leading any negotiations and manage supply disruptions or crises (major vendor disruptions, acts of God the impede
supply, etc).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Business Excellence

· 
Accomplish department strategic and financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing and controlling the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. Prepare all required performance reports for the leadership team.

· 
Review and improve department organizational effectiveness (workplace safety, quality standards, process efficiency, cost reduction and waste elimination) by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a safe and healthy, highly motivated and high performing work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement.

• Build/Manage the team

· 
Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve or excel department and company goals and objectives

· 
Lead team members in career performance and development through regular performance assessments, feedback, coaching and development opportunities

· 
Lead teams in identifying and implementing continuous improvement activities

• Oversee the planning system

· 
Lead the development of the master production schedule from forecasts, material availability, inventory targets, equipment capacity, and labor availability

· 
Contribute to long term planning and forecasting activities and lead the implementation in raw material and production plans

· 
Lead team in optimizing SAP parameters, data integrity and maintenance of IT systems

• Optimize inventory investment and material spend

· 
Lead supplier negotiations and achieve annual cost saving initiatives for direct spend

· 
Project inventory levels and lead teams in managing inventory to meet targets and support production needs

• Manage supply risk

· 
Lead escalation and communication of supply risks and disruptions to leadership

· 
Point person for plant service, backorder and inventory reporting

· 
Lead buyers in developing and managing relationships with key internal and external suppliers

· 
Key contact for all material issues such as problem suppliers, material constraints, production disruptions,

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline
*Note: It can be replaced with HS Diploma with proven 7 plus years of excellar supervisory work experience and managerial skills development courses.

Experience/Background:
The job experience of 7 years of related experience required (minimum 5 years experience in managerial role and minimum 2 years of experience in on-site
manufacturing support)

· 
Experience production planning in a complex, high volume, regulated manufacturing environment required

· 
Strong reporting and analytics capabilities required

· 
Advanced Excel skills, SAP proficiency and experience in PowerBI development and analysis

· 
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and external parties.

· 
Experience in strategic thinking, strategy development and execution.

· 
Experience with conflict resolution.

· 
Supply chain, Sourcing, Lean Six Sigma, or other certifications are preferred

· 
Experience of supply chain in medical device industry is an advantage.
