JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Job Function
Develop and execute highly complex site-specific project plans for the installation and implementation of product lines for the APAC Organization. Establish, coordinate and provide leadership for Abbott & customer teams to ensure that implementation plans are executed on time to accomplish mutual goals. Provide timely updates to Senior Management of progress and obstacles. Act as the single point of contact for the customer and Abbott team for all activities associated with the preparation and execution of the Accelerator implementation. This relationship will span several months to accomplish the fundamental change in the way the laboratory conducts processing and testing of patient samples.
Core Job Responsibilities
· Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
· Establish Abbott account specific implementation team which includes IDN sales organization, local sales and service, RD, Global Service and Support and Workflow Specialist.
· Identify Customer implementation team members from both the Laboratory and IT organizations.
· Develop team charter including project goals to ensure that Abbott & customer teams are aligned.
· Develop detailed site-specific consolidated implementation plan using Abbott Project Management tools with staging and resources defined.
· This consolidated plan would include plans for the implementation of analytics, middleware and track hardware.
· Establish routine communication process to keep Abbott and customer team on track for timely execution of plan.
· Drive execution of all tasks on both the Abbott & customer side.
· Identify and coordinate cross-functional meeting with Abbott/OEM partners/LIS personnel to develop solutions to ensure timely execution of plan.
· Develop contingency plans to address issues as they arise. Because we are changing the way samples are processed and testing is conducted in the customer's lab, the plan is very dynamic and spans months and many issues surface during the task execution.
· Conduct on site meeting with customer to review project plan and status at appropriate intervals to ensure confidence in plan and execution.
· Work with Accelerator Implementation Manager to allocate needed implementation resources.
· Update project task status routinely to assess impact on projected timeline/completion dates.
· Provide routine communication to USO Senior Management of progress.
· Identify process improvements to shorten the time/resources needed from shipment to Test of Record.
· Interface with Commercial Implementation Project Manager with plan updates and timelines.
· Maintain compliance with Quality System.
Position Accountability / Scope
· The Project Manager is responsible for developing a comprehensive implementation plan and ensuring execution of such plan on time.
· Significant sales dollars are tied to the customer base that would be purchasing the Accelerator product.
· The Project Manager is the focal person for the Abbott team and customer during this lengthy implementation process that can involve months of preparation/execution as we are fundamentally changing the way the laboratory conducts their testing. The relationship established is key for a successful implementation as perceived by the customer.
· This position will have significant impact on the success of the Accelerator product line in the US. Successful project management of this complex implementation will show our largest customers that Abbott Diagnostics is committed to Laboratory Track automation. This is the targeted customer base we need to fuel our Sales Growth strategy.
Minimum Education
· Bachelor's degree. Project management experience and knowledge of laboratory operation is desirable.
Minimum Experience / Training Required
· Strong Leadership/Management skills and experience.
· Should have solid project management skills and team leadership skills.
· Strong working knowledge of ADD and people to engage to get things accomplished.
· Effective customer interaction skills. Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
