JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Plant Sanitation Specialist support the Site’s Sanitation Program for Manufacturing Operations, Warehouse and Plant Grounds. This role works under the direct supervision of the Quality Operations Manager  The purpose of this role is to implement food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance policies, procedures and training to support the development and sustainability of the site’s Food Safety Culture.

The Plant Sanitation Specialist is required to perform the following duties: Review all daily, weekly and monthly sanitation checklists for completeness, accuracy and signatures. Ensure site’s sanitation checklists, sanitation policies and sanitation procedures are accurate and up to date in Teamcenter, following the Change Request (CR) Process.

The Plant Sanitation Specialist is required to support the site vendor’s chemical representative and accompany the chemical representative while they are on site. This includes ensuring all the plants’ required monthly titration and equipment checks are completed on time and are within allowable specification limits. The Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for documenting via Quality Record (QR) any process deviations, including but not limited to issues noted during monthly titrations and sanitation equipment checks.

The Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for ensuring all sanitation and cleaning supplies are available and in good operating condition across the site, including  all entrance points, all sanitation stations, all sanitation equipment holder locations to ensure proper plant sanitation. The Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for daily plant walks to ensure all areas interior and exterior to the site are in in compliance with all AN Policies and Procedures. The Plant Sanitation Specialist is required to be on site to support for monthly plant fogging(s)and plant fumigation.

The Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for  participating in all root cause analyses (RCA) endeavors for all environmental monitoring trends. In addition, this role is  required to participate in the site’s Food Safety Plan reviews and make relevant contributions to plan improvements.

The Plant Sanitation Specialist will ensure all plant signage related to sanitation is correct and in good condition. If signage is not correct or in good condition, the Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the signage is updated.  

·  The Plant Sanitation Specialist will support all sanitation related training to plant employees as needed.
·  The Plant Sanitation Specialist will ensure all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements related to sanitation are met including: proper chemical storage, MSDS’s in place for each item, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is being worn and available and all changes to chemicals at the plant have the applicable forms signed by Quality Engineers and EHS.
·  The Plant Sanitation Specialist is required to be an active participant in the site’s  Sanitation Community of Practice (COP) and be responsible for timely completion of actions assigned. He/she also will support the plant’s sanitizer roadmap goal of transitioning the plant Clean In Place (CIP) system to Synergex. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the execution of validation deliverables in the manufacturing areas.
·  The Plant Sanitation Specialist is responsible for directly working with new hires and providing one on one sanitation training. This includes explaining principles of sanitation, showing the new hires the personal protective equipment required for cleaning, explaining the chemicals used and safety risks, explaining the required steps of cleaning, and showing them how to clean. The Plant Sanitation Specialist is also responsible for working with the manufacturing areas during their cleaning windows to ensure that employees are performing their cleaning tasks correctly and further the site’s education of the cleaning process.   

Education and Experience You'll Bring:

Required:

·  Bachelor’s Degree and /or significant experience in Plant Quality/Food Safety/Sanitation desired.
·  Must be eager to learn and implement new skillsets and succeed in Manufacturing.
·  Proven leadership capabilities
·  Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing plant
·  Process control knowledge of Clean In Place Circuits  
·  Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred:

·Understanding and application of cGMP’s and sanitation knowledge.

·Knowledge of HACCP, Sanitation principles and Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPC)

·Understanding of the appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology.

·Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment.

     

The base pay for this position is
$57,300.00 – $114,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
