JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division is looking for

Patent Paralegal

to be based in Basel - Switzerland

In this role you will provide patent paralegal & general administrative support for division counsel and patent team. You will support & drive team projects and processes to improve collaboration, communication, information and experience sharing across regionalized team located in different countries and support and coordinate work with external counsels. Last but not least you will manage and track budgets.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Manage patent dockets, maintain and update internal patent databases
• Support team projects and processes, contribute to process improvement and implementation
• Prepare and attend meetings, prepare agenda and minutes, set up web and videoconferences
• Manage and track budget, manage invoices and related procedures, support billing process with external counsels
• Prepare reports for patent reviews with internal business partners
• Prepare business trips and handle related expenses
• General office organization

Experience/Training Required:

• Formal training in patent paralegal and/or administrative support
• At least 3 years professional experience in patent law firm or patent department of corporation, preferably experience in international environment
• Fluent in English both spoken and written, any other language is beneficial
• Takes ownership of tasks and projects, proactive solution-oriented mindset, keen to take on challenges and look at things in a new way, works well in teams
• Proficiency in IT tools such as patent databases, MS PPT, MS SharePoint
• Well organized and detail oriented
