The Opportunity   

This position works out of our Pleasanton, California location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.  

 

The Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of all packaging and labeling operations and ensure adherence to all SOPs, cGMPs, and safety requirements. Schedules packaging line activities and oversees daily performance against established standards and schedules.   

What You’ll Work On  

 

· 
A Coordinate activities for the shift team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, Finance, Productivity and People 

· 
Lead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the shift. Initiate, manage, and make decisions which impact product quality. 

· 
Drive a culture of engagement through the team and department. Directly supervise a team and participate in staffing activities. 

· 
Develop all line personnel by securing appropriate staffing, training, mentoring, performance reviews, and assigning progressively challenging stretch responsibilities within the scope of the team and department accountabilities. Maintain a safe lab environment. 

· 
Engage with employees and other key stakeholders to ensure all EHS requirements are met inclusive of internal and external regulatory objectives and direction 

· 
Promote behaviors that ensure delivery of high-quality products for our customers while maintaining compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements, and adhere to the regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shipped 

· 
Prepare and actively participate in internal and external Quality audits and incident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of CAPA activities 

· 
Model and promote a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability, and cash flow for the shift and within the department, while operating within budget material utilization and Cost Improvement Program goals. Manage budget accountability for Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, headcount, overtime (OT), and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).

Assure that production schedules are formulated to maximize plant advantage and ensure schedules are met. 

· 
Responsible for the accuracy of the documentation required for production.  

· 
Assists in implementation of improvement projects as assigned by the Department Manager.  

· 
Provides leadership and valuable participation in team activities that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the Plant.  

· 
Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels.  This includes assuring communications to Department Manager, between shifts and to related departments. Directs daily and monthly shift communication meetings. 

Required Qualifications  

 

· 
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) or relevant experience 

· 
2+ years of relevant work experience 

Preferred Qualifications  

· 
2 or more years of manufacturing experience in a regulated industry 

· 
Experience using project planning and execution tools 

· 
Microsoft Office computer skills 

· 
Leadership experience 

· 
Experience working with and implementing Continuous Improvement projects

The base pay for this position is
$65,900.00 – $131,900.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
