Medical Scientific Liaison
The MSL is the medical / scientific voice of expertise for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) products and therapeutic areas in the field. This role focuses on medical & scientific engagement with ADC stakeholders, this in close and regular collaboration with appropriate sales and marketing colleagues.
The MSL provides medical / scientific expert advice / guidance to key customers for ADC products & relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange & professional development with key thought leaders / external experts and provides medical / scientific affairs support to the national and local commercial team.
The MSL serves to support the scientific credibility of ADC with HCPs and national thoughts leaders, by supporting scientific dialogue and collaboration in areas of research, scientific publications, and medical & scientific exchange, including unsolicited requests for medical information. He/she also interfaces regularly with appropriate national commercial team members. He/she maintains a high level of knowledge to ensure credible dissemination of scientific information and dialogue with thoughts leaders, healthcare providers and healthcare organizations.
Position reports to the Medical Director Benelux, interacts closely within regional and local staff.
What are you responsible for?

Delivers credible presentations on scientific matters to health care providers, individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where requested,

Ensures professional and credible relationships with HCPs.

Ensures a strong medical and scientific presence for ADC in hospitals and general practitioner offices by supporting requests for medical and scientific information on products or areas of therapeutic interest to ADC.

Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with other in-field members (sales and marketing) while retaining functional independence.

Acts as a point of contact within the medical affairs team for thought leaders and external experts within an assigned geographic area to satisfy their needs for scientific knowledge in a therapeutic area and, when requested, relevant ADC products, to support their safe, effective, and appropriate use and

Coordinates and executes regional education and scientific symposiums.

Participates in the selection process to identify appropriately qualified thought leaders, ADC would wish to engage in collaborative efforts – such as educational and advisory roles (Advisory Boards, Congresses, Symposia, etc.) while ensuring a high level of scientific or educational integrity in these collaborative efforts.

Attends relevant scientific meetings and conferences. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key data and other scientifically relevant information to inform ADC strategic priorities and initiatives.

Is responsible for medical education: to the sales teams/internal staff and external stakeholders (overseeing medical education solutions and implementing a comprehensive medical education program, in collaboration with the national training manager).

Keeps up to date with medical relevant medical publications, national guidelines, recommendations, and regulations that may influence diabetes management.

When needed reviews and approves marketing materials and training aids on medical/scientific correctness.
·
Ensures that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies and accepted standards of best practice.
Who are you?
Preferred: PhD, MD, PharmD
Minimum 3- 5 years in a health sciences field.
Experience in customer facing Healthcare.
Experience of working with MS Office
Driving license for passenger car
Fluent in local language
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Medical device or pharma industry experience
Experience in Diabetes Care
TECHNICAL SKILLS/TRAINING PREFERRED:
Advanced skills in evidence-based medicine
Capable to assimilate and analyze medical and scientific information and translate it into useful information for internal staff and external stakeholders
