Our location in Dallas, TX currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer .

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of engineering solutions for parts, components, or subsystems and other intermediate and moderately complex designs.

·  Produce and review design drawings and specification documents. Proficient in CAD system tools (SolidWorks)
·  Experience with electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical system designs and can build test beds to support early and long-term reliability development
·  Design, build, and execute testing of components or sub-systems.  Document and present test plans to broader audience.
·  Knows geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and Finite Element Analysis
·  Able to perform simulations of materials and properties and behaviors in static and dynamic systems
·  Establish internal methods and best practices for the application of finite element analysis in various phases of product development.
·  Design electronic enclosures, contoured housings/products, assembly fixtures, etc.
·  Develop component and assembly specifications, and interface control drawings
·  Build prototypes, develop and implement test plans, test fixtures, manufacturing fixtures, and work with QA and manufacturing personnel to put new designs into production
·  Build prototypes using Rapid Prototyping
·  Work closely with cross-functional teams to fully comprehend issue, gather information and communicates results.
·  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks within time standards, efficiently, as needed.
·  Write reports summarizing results of design projects

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

·  Associate Degree
·  1 year of experience

Preferred:

·  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline including strong coursework and/or research experience
·  5 years of mechanical engineering experience
·  Strong knowledge and understanding of structural mechanics (e.g. fatigue analysis, nonlinear materials, crack initiation/propagation)
·  2 or more years of SolidWorks experience or equivalent mastery through education or similar 3D CAD software
·  Comfortable with programming/scripting (python preferred)
·  Experience in commercial, structural simulation packages such as ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Motion or related software
·  Experience in fluidics simulation packages such as STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent or related software
·  Experience in Multiphysics simulations (e.g. electromagnetism using ANSYS Maxwell, fluid-structure interaction, acoustics)
·  Ability to summarize technical data and details into clear presentations illustrating key ideas to a non-technical audience
