Abbott Point of Care (APOC) is looking for a Manager Clinical Affairs EMEA (m/f). The position will be based in our office in Wiesbaden (Germany) or in Maidenhead (UK).
• Managing research studies with external investigators in Europe (for example, investigator-initiated studies), with a focus on cardiac biomarkers
• Liaise with investigators to drive clinical activities as well as coordinate the conduct and publication of analytical and outcome studies across Europe
• Establishing partnerships and facilitating feedback from key thought leaders and researchers in Europe
• Educating internal and external stakeholders on the data and published literature to support the use and value of the Abbott Point of Care product portfolio
• Attending medical meeting & congresses and driving scientific activities
• Maintaining compliance with corporate governance around scientific research funding and publications (internal audits, research funding monitoring/reporting, publications monitoring/reporting, and spend transparency reporting)
Desired profile
• Scientific (Masters or PhD) or clinical degree (for example, a nursing or laboratory degree) is required
• Typically requires 3+ years of experience with or exposure to a technical / clinical environment, laboratory instrumentation and / or medical diagnostic testing
• Fluent in English
• Experience managing investigator-initiated studies, including previous Clinical Affairs or Scientific Affairs responsibilities
• Experience with sales and/or marketing in the healthcare industry
• Experience publishing research and/or working with others to publish research (journal articles, abstracts, posters)
• Experience working with third-party vendors (agencies, CROs, data analytics companies)
• Familiarity with point of care or other diagnostic platforms; expertise or understanding of the management of Acute Coronary Syndromes or cardiac biomarkers is a plus
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders (thought leaders, hospital administrators, physicians, nurses, hospital IT personnel, sales personnel)
• Ability to travel; up to 50% travel required
