Position Overview:

The LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) Business Analyst is responsible for delivering high quality, on time and, on budget LIMS solutions that address customer business and workflow requirements. This includes conducting product gap analysis and, managing and participating in configuration activities.

  • Manage or assist with the project initiation process including the kickoff meeting and detailed requirements gathering. Develop the gap/functional analysis and create or assist with development of statement of work (SOW) and use cases if needed. Assist with or manage the project plan in small implementations.
  • Work with Product Team and Implementation Engineers to develop project configuration strategy to meet customer business and workflow requirements.
  • Maintain close communications with the STARLIMS product team to explore alternatives to maximize use of out of the box functionality report product defects and provide input for new product requirements.

Position Location:

  • This position is based in Hollywood, FL. Qualified candidates must currently reside in, or near, the Hollywood, FL area.
  • Relocation assistance is not authorized for this position.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

  • Execute customer site survey to gather detailed business requirements and determine gaps against out of box product lead customer resources in extract requirements to necessary level of detail.
  • On projects where serving as Project Manager and Business Analyst – Manage daily project team activities to balance priorities to meet project plan timelines and ensure that quality assurance documentation and testing procedures are followed with discipline. Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
  • Communicate with management regarding required changes to resourcing plan.
  • Provide timely and proactive communications to the customer regarding project status, upcoming tasks, scheduling conflicts, and anticipated barriers to executing the project implementation on schedule and on budget. Maintains detailed time record of project work in time tracking system. Provide routine status updates to project manager and management.
  • Coordinate resources (if applicable) amongst stakeholders to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Understand customer workflows and requirements and relate to product capability. Maintain deep understanding of product capabilities, articulate proper use of functionality to the customer to encourage use of out of the box functionality to minimize project customization.
  • Understands business requirements extensively to not only provide input to Product Team on business requirements but also makes suggestions on ways to implement solution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Testing, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5 or more years of laboratory informatics software implementation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of standards and processes in the Manufacturing of Pharmaceutical, Biotech or General Manufacturing business and Labs.
  • Considered a plus are the following: Knowledge of Refinery, Nutrition Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Analytical & Environmental Contract Services, and R&D businesses and Labs.
  • Strong understanding of customer business unit customer needs and objectives. Knowledgeable in technology.
