Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. This enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.

As a Project Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading the introduction and optimization of best in class, fully automated manufacturing lines within a new, purpose-built Abbott facility. The successful applicant will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the equipment/process from design review through to production start.
Responsibilities
· Becoming a process SME and leading the design, commissioning, and install phases of the equipment up to SAT
· Managing the project progression and provide input to the site master schedule as appropriate
· Directly supporting the onsite manufacturing team through the validation and sustaining phases of the equipment
· Contributing significantly to ADC CIP plans and initiatives and working with manufacturing sites to identify cost reduction opportunities
· Coordinating and implementing process and equipment projects
· Supporting change control activities at manufacturing sites
· Promoting ADC Ireland, Kilkenny site culture in line with Abbott corporate values
Qualifications and Experience
· Relevant third level qualification. Engineering/Manufacturing/Science is preferred
· Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment
· Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
· Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to lead a team.
· Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to work.
