The Opportunity
This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.
You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process, and improve process flow and efficiency. These actions will occur across multiple facets of organization including: manufacturing, design, supplier development, documentation, and Abbott suppliers. Projects will incorporate lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods- Time Measurement, or a variety of other systems improvement philosophies. The employee will be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Abbott to ensure project success.
What You’ll Work On

Analyzes, creates and implements manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work in process and improve the quality, cost and delivery performance of Abbott.

Completes capacity analyzes internally and/or at suppliers for headcount, equipment and space requirements using simulation software or other effective tools.

Identifies opportunities and drives incorporation of appropriate Lean tool usage such as 5S, time study, line balancing, standard work, material flow and value stream mapping, process mapping and Kaizen event into the daily functions of continuous improvement.

Implements and maintains effective metrics with internal customers.
·
Participates as a core member in cross-functional teams to quickly troubleshoot and eliminate product supply issues internally or at suppliers.
·
Makes recommendations to teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products. May use financial analyses tool and recommend alternative courses of action.

Convinces internal customer to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes.
Required Qualifications
·
Bachelors Degree in a Related field
·
Technical/Business Knowledge-Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
·
Strong understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships.
·
Cognitive Skills- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
·
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
·
Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of engineer experience in an industrial/manufacturing industry

The base pay for this position is
$64,000.00 – $128,000.00
