JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs entry-level activities to design and develop new software and hardware to test new products. Investigates and resolves production problems involving test equipment software and hardware. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective and cost-efficient business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Promotes the process of continuous quality improvement and risk management and coordinates solutions for technical and project issues. Exercises independent judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes.
Job Duties
- As a key part of the development team, the test engineer will work closely with colleagues from design, applications, and product engineering to guarantee device specifications, performance, and manufacturing quality. This will include identifying requirements for device test modes or new methodologies when needed.
- PCB design: hardware to interface device-under- test (DUT) with automated test equipment (ATE) resources, i.e. sources, meters, frequency counters, etc. Assemble and solder initial hardware solutions.
- Test software development: Responsible for all device test software for characterization, evaluation, and production. Will provide documentation for all test methods used.
- Data analysis: The test engineer will ensure the validity of all data collected on the ATE which includes analysis of sources of error, repeatability/reproducibility (RR), and correlation to bench measurements.
- Troubleshoot circuits at wafer and packaged level with oscilloscopes, voltage and current meters, and other supply and measurement equipment.
- Investigate and develop new test methods to reduce test time and cost.
General Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related field.
- Basic familiarity with \"C\" programming or similar programming languages.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies and tasks.
- Demonstrated personal computer skills and ability to perform basic word processing/spreadsheets tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
