Abbott´s Hematology Division is looking for a

Data Scientist at EU Smart Center (m/w/d)

Based in Wiesbaden

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support to facilitate key business decisions
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
  • Ensure accuracy of instrument data and compliance with various policies and processes
  • Analyze, interpret and report results of analytics to various stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Monitor global instrument population for trends in hardware- software and reagent performance, alert regional staff and provide action plans
  • Assist regional customer support center in answering questions related to the remote monitoring of instruments and assists in analyzing specific data sets
  • Assist regional support center in integrating and promoting new processes and tools, including efforts to maintain and grow AbbottLink installations and maintain connectivity
  • Develop, organize and conduct training on remote service tools and -processes
  • Facilitate and moderate expert-to-expert communication within area and at global level
  • Collaborate closely with global service teams as well as R&D and manufacturing

Your Profile

  • A (university) degree in Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics or similar
  • General understanding of typical processes in a modern laboratory
  • Knowledge and operational work experience with lab instruments and applications – ideally in the field of hematology
  • Experience in customer phone & remote support or experience in field service
  • Specific interest and experience in big data analytics and data visualization
  • General understanding of databases (i.e. SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
  • General understanding of the principles of predictive analytics and the transformation of service and support
  • Experience in hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for the business in the form of reports/ dashboards
  • Excellent communication- and collaboration skills in English as well as multicultural awareness
  • Self-driven ability to work individually and as member of international teams (real / virtual)
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and to maintain focus in highly dynamic environment
  • Readiness for occasional international travel for meetings, conferences and customers visits
