Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. This enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.

This is how you can make a difference at Abbott:
In this role you will complete evaluation and delivery of logistics strategies for domestic and international freight. Ensuring customs compliance for international shipments and have the ability to execute highly complex or specialized work.
Responsibilities
· Analysing shipping requirements and selection of most appropriate mode of transportation
· Interpretation of customs regulations and ensuring compliance for international imports
· Reviewing tariff classifications, trade agreements and import/export documentation
· Communicate with customs authorities and brokers in relation to customs clearance
· Creating weekly transportation and customs reports
· Sign off and confirmation for logistics/transportation invoices
· Utilising data analysis to identify cost saving initiatives in logistics
· Work closely with the warehouse to ensure delivery schedules are adhered to
· Monitor and evaluate performance of logistics partners
Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline
· 2+ years experience in a similar role
· Experience managing customs documentation
· Strong knowledge of customs procedures
· Experience managing relationships with external logistics partners
· SAP experience an advantage
