Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

The role of the Controls Engineer will be to support the Libre Expansion project. This will involve participating in the design, build and installation of new equipment and technologies to the manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will have experience in technical design, validation and manufacturing control systems.

Responsibilities Include

· 
Create and lead PLC based projects

· 
Provide PLC support to Production to achieve OEE targets

· 
Generate, execute and support validation protocols, trials/ studies and create associated reports for equipment, test methods, processes and materials.

· 
Identification of opportunities for new technology and driving continuous improvement.

· 
Lead and contribute to process improvement projects.

· 
Performing and analysing data, evaluating results, forming conclusions and contributing to design, process or document improvements.

Experience and Qualifications

· 
Recognised Qualification in one or more of the followings areas: Electrical, Electronic, Controls, Automation or Vision.

· 
Three years of relevant experience in working with controls and automated equipment
