JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Commissions Analyst to join our team in the Austin, TX.  You will primarily be responsible for the development, implementation, execution and payment of Abbott's MD CRM & EP/HR Sales compensation plans and related employee agreements. This includes preparing internal and external compensation statements and supporting schedules, perform financial compensation and data review/analysis, assist in preparation/completion of month-end closing of accounting and compensation cycles, and assists in financial compensation reporting. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and development of sales compensation plan requirements, and ensuring proper implementation and testing of calculations, results and reporting.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and execution of all sales compensation and bonus plans and their related employee agreements and data processes.
  • Exhibit a high level of proficiency with relational databases and software applications, and share knowledge and expertise with the staff.
  • Develop new spreadsheet analytics that enhance analysis to ensure the most reliable results.
  • Demonstrate a lead role within the group that focuses on best customer service results with internal and external customers; exhibit an example role for communication and interaction with customers.
  • Take a lead role in audit projects.
  • Take a lead role in interacting with other departments, such a General Accounting, Finance, Compensation/HR/Legal, IT and Internal Audit.
  • Assume a leading role on project teams in the implementation of new/upgraded designs in software and processes, and sales compensation plans.
  • Assists in financial and sales compensation closing activities, including reconciliations and final pay file distributions.
  • Ensures Financial, Data and Sales Compensation processes are in compliance with internal and external audit practices and documentation.
  • Remains current on developments on field of expertise.
  • Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

           

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other related discipline
  • 2+ years of financial planning and analysis experience, including performing sales, data, and/or commission analysis
  • Advanced level proficiency with Excel (including VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables, Macros, etc)
  • Previous experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous medical device experience
  • Experience working with Anaplan, Salesforce, Callidus, or other ERM product
  • Intermediate proficiency with Access and the ability to interface data with new or existing software and/or applications, and prepare routine ad-hoc reports using SQL and other data mining tools
