The opportunity
The user experience team plays a vital part in bringing the value of Worldline’s products to life for our customers. As the Head of User Experience, you advocate for the customer always, are the visionary leader for the user experience function, and act as translator of business strategy. You will be responsible for shaping the future of our design processes, scaling design systems, and embedding a culture of design excellence across the organization. This role will report to the VP Product Marketing & Product Design, leading a team of 10+ UX/UI designers and UX researchers across offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden.
The role demands an individual who can balance creativity with strategic decision-making. The first accomplishment will be to centralize the team to operate as a tight-knit unified craft, while still being fully embedded in various product teams. The Head of User Experience will establish our design process, culture, and principles, while setting the visual identity of our products and standards for design excellence. A passion for user needs, craftsmanship, and strategy is a must as we build out this function focused on designing the best experiences for our customers.
Day-to-day responsibilities
You translate business needs into a comprehensive design strategy, while managing resources and budgets to optimize efficiency.
You lead and coach the product designers to achieve team goals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability in the process.
You provide strategic and creative direction to the team, elevating design excellence, consistency, and coherence across all products, including how we build and implement a universal design system.
You lead the integration of UX research into the design process, ensuring a deep understanding of user needs and behaviours and powering data-driven design decisions
You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across product management, engineering, product marketing and others to ensure design work meets technical and business requirements.
You use data insights and user research to inform designs and enhance the user experience with our products.
You monitor and analyse market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for design innovation.

10+ years of proven product design experience, with a portfolio of exceptional visual design from both them and their team
Strong leadership skills, with at least 2 years of experience managing and motivating user experience teams
Exceptional design craft, with a strong understanding of design principles, user experience, and usability best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively articulate design concepts and strategies
Strategic thinker with the ability to balance setting a creative vision with delivering on business needs
Organizational savviness, with the ability to align cross-functionally to inspire others and influence product strategy
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
