Within Group Trucks Purchasing APAC team, Services Digital & Investments (SD&I) Australia team is recruiting a VIE Commodity Buyer, located in Wacol, for a 12 months contract.  

 

The overall objective for the Commodity Buyer (SD&I) is to perform his/her operational procurement duties on selected purchasing segments to secure products & services needed by our internal stakeholders.

 

The Commodity Buyer will lead the selection of the right suppliers within the areas of Operational Services (industrial supplies, maintenance) and Investments (Capex) while continuously securing Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) by using the tools and purchasing/cross functional network.

 

What you will do: 

 

The Commodity Buyer is accountable for providing operational duties that support the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of the supplier base for selected purchasing segments.

 

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

•    Implement segment strategies and be an active member in the global network of commodity buyers
•    Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
•    Drive negotiations and execute agreements with suppliers within the selected segments
•    Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management targets (QDCFTSR)
•    Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
•    Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders and financial flows to the suppliers
•    With respect to the decided governance and processes, the Commodity Buyer has the authority to act to fulfil the above-described tasks and responsibilities

Who are you?

•    Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering.
•    Previous work experience (1-2 years) in a similar role where you have demonstrated your expertise in project management, change management, process management and business case development
•    Experience with cost management and financial analysis
•    An overall understanding of production and supply chain processes
•    Strong commercial acumen and total acquisition cost management
•    Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to positivity influence others
•    Excellent organisational, interpersonal and multi-cultural communication skills
•    Solid knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, ERP systems and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
•    Ability to deal with, and be supportive of colleagues/customers across all levels of the organisation
•    A Team Player and proactive approach to team work
