This role is part of Volvo Financial Services (VFS), who offer complete solutions for truck and equipment financing and service.

 

 

What you will do

Volvo Financial Services (VFS) are excited to add an Assistant Accountant to the team who is self-motivated and a true team player. You will be responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, along with daily accounting operations.

Day to day your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

·  Processing of daily banking files
·  Managing vendor invoices and ensuring timely and accurate processing
·  Performing vendor account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
·  Preparing customer invoices
·  Managing daily bank statement downloads and postings
·  Processing and allocating cash, including customer payments, payouts and dishonours
·  Assisting with month and year end close activities and conducting regular reconciliations of GL accounts

Your future team

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work in a team of 4, including the Finance Manager, Accountant and Trainee Accountant. Your team are a group of supportive and good-humoured individuals who value open communication and working together to get the job done. You will be located full-time at our Volvo Group Head office in Wacol.

Who are you?

We believe that your behaviours and characteristics are just as important as your technicial ability. Ideally you will have:

·  Proven success in a similar role within a commercial environment
·  Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
·  Experience using accounting systems (Navision / Business Central is the finance system used by VFS)
·  A finance degree or working towards this (not essential)
·  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on your own as well as in a team
·  The ability to juggle workloads and conflicting priorities
·  A positive-minded team player who is happy to help out where needed
·  A proactive worker who isn’t afraid to ask questions
