Truck electronic connected services is a fast-growing activity, providing for example fleet management, driver support, trip optimization solutions etc. thanks to extensive on-board telematics. Our department is hiring a new PM connected services in Lyon for a permanent contract.
You will be part of the EE Project Office and Data team, other team members are in project management, product management, data science and analysis, quality and functional safety.
This team is a part of the Electricity, Electronics & Vehicle Connectivity Department in Lyon Vehicle Engineering. We deliver all electronic features for Renault Trucks heavy duty ranges (T, C, K models) in a robust and reliable way. We are fully integrated in the Volvo Global Trucks Technology organization which manages all vehicle project developments worldwide for the entire Volvo Group.
What you will do:
You will work closely with software engineers and architect from Connected Services team in Lyon, software development engineers from Sweden and India, and project managers from other organizations worldwide in the Volvo Group.
As a Truck Electronic Connected Services Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of connected services for electronic systems in trucks. This role involves managing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that all objectives are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, aftermarket representatives and connected services experts. Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with Renault Trucks brand representatives to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage project risks and issues.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations. Contribute to continuous improvement and connected services project management process updates.
• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial objectives are met.
• R eporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Your profile:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Engineering School or equivalent. A PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience in project management, particularly in the automotive or transportation industry. Experience with connected vehicle technologies is highly desirable. Experience in the Volvo Group development activity is a plus.
• Fluent in English
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electronic systems and connected services. Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira.
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in complex environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to anticipate issues and develop proactive solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with data analytics and telematics.
