Role Description: -

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for defining and designing the architecture of business applications and digital products within the organization, ensuring that technology solutions deliver maximum value to our end users. You will closely work with Lead Architect to play a key role in shaping the target architecture for digital initiatives, aligning technology choices with the organization’s North Star Architecture. Working closely with product teams, Tech Leads, and Enterprise Architects, you will ensure that all solutions adhere to established principles, guidelines, and standards, supporting the realization of business strategy through robust digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:-

•    Closely work with the stable team members, Tech Lead and Lead Architect to meet the team goal.
•    Work with Lead Architect to analyse the current technology environment and enterprise-specific requirements to inform architectural decisions.
•    Design and document IT integration solutions using relevant platforms, support services, methods, and guidelines.
•    Develop application architectures that guide product development, emphasizing the reuse of business components and the adoption of modern architecture disciplines in line with the North Star vision.
•    Ensure the use of shared technical standards, tools, and platforms across solutions.
•    Align all architectural designs with Volvo Group Security directives.
•    Work with DPO to understand business requirements to translate business requirements into IT architecture, utilizing a range of architecture and design artifacts to communicate solutions.
•    Analyse functional requirements and develop non-functional requirements to ensure comprehensive solution design.
•    Participate in the selection of appropriate technologies for solution implementation.
•    Ensure architectural designs are consistent with established architecture principles and the North Star framework.
Contribute to delivery portfolio architect group discussions and the development of Target Architecture by addressing technical aspects and ensuring consistency with Business needs

Additional Responsibilities:-
•    Support the planning, development, deployment, and maintenance of digital solutions within the organization.
•    Foster collaboration within stable teams and across product teams, maintaining strong engagement with Tech Leads and Enterprise Architects.

Qualifications:-

•    Proven experience in solution architecture, application design, or related roles within digital product or business application development.
•    Strong understanding of modern architecture disciplines, IT integration, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
•    Familiarity with security directives, technical standards, and best practices in IT architecture.
•    Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
•    Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Essential requirements:

•    Background Language expertise: C#, .NET, .NET Core & Framework and Web API 
•    Experience with Databases: SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)  and No-SQL (Postgres)
•    Integration -   Experience with messaging systems (MQ, Kafka, event streaming), API design and management (REST, SOAP, API gateways),  Data integration using ETL/ELT, replication tools (e.g., Qlik), and  Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous communication models
•    Strong knowledge in Cloud Platform: Microsoft Azure
•    Deep experience in DevOps & Automation such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab CI/CD, YAML, PowerShell, Azure CLI
•    Architecture pattern and skills:  Layered architecture (presentation, application, domain, data layers),  Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA),  Microservices architecture and domain-driven design (DDD), Distributed Systems & Event-Driven Design, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
•    Strong knowledge in Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (OpenShift, AKS)
•    Nice to have knowledge within AI: Azure AI services (Azure AI Studio, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Cognitive Services)
